A space to play. A space to express. A space to heal and grow.

Supporting Children Through Their Big Feelings

A safe space for little hearts to be heard, understood and supported.

Welcome to Heart Space

Play therapy is a type of therapy for children, helping them explore emotions, build confidence and develop the tools they need to thrive.

Play Therapy gives children a safe, nurturing space to express feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

At Heart Space, I provide a calm, nurturing and accepting environment where children can explore their emotions, experiences and relationships through play and creativity. My approach is gentle, child-led and centred around building a trusting relationship where each child feels safe to be themselves.

Supporting Children Through Their Big Feelings

Children communicate in many different ways. Behaviour can often be a way of expressing something they don’t yet have the words to explain.

Therapeutic play can provide children with another way to communicate, helping them make sense of difficult experiences, understand their emotions and develop healthier ways of coping.

I support children experiencing:

  • Anxiety and worries
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Anger and big emotions
  • Social and friendship difficulties
  • Autism and ADHD
  • Developmental delays
  • Trauma and difficult experiences
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Attachment difficulties
  • Changes within family life
  • Difficulties expressing feelings
A Child-Led Approach

Why Play Therapy?

Play is a child’s natural language. Through play, children can explore experiences, express emotions and work through things that may feel too difficult to talk about directly.

Using a range of creative and imaginative activities, including:

Art • Sand • Clay • Puppets • Music • Stories • Role-play

children can explore their inner world in a way that feels safe and accessible.

Play Therapy isn’t about telling a child what to do or how to feel. It is about creating the right environment for them to explore, discover and develop at their own pace.
